Nigerian rapper, Ibile has taken to his Instagram account to reply a question posed by award-winning musician, Rema via Instagram.

Rema had earlier wondered on where he would be if he hadn’t released the freestyle that brought him to limelight on Instagram.

Marvin Records boss, Don Jazzy commented on the post, stating that upcoming artistes shouldn’t be shy about promoting their act.

In response to Rema’s post, ‘Bolanle’ crooner decided to be witty with his comment as he stated that the ‘Dumebi’ hit maker would have been at Onitsha Market Selling Jeans.

Customers stranded as court shuts Abia bank branch

Ogbonnaya Ikokwu, Umuahia

Many customers of the First Bank of Nigeria Limited in Umuahia, the Abia State capital, were stranded on Tuesday following the sealing off of its main branch located on Library Avenue.

The gate of the bank premises was under lock and key when our correspondent visited the branch.

Customers, who had arrived for banking transactions, wondered what might have led to the sealing off of the bank branch.

Investigation by our correspondent showed that the bank was sealed following the order of the Abia State High Court.

The court had ordered the Abia State Board of Internal Revenue to seal off the bank branch for failing to pay tax amounting to N5,916,568.

The court order read in part, “It’s here ordered that the defendant is to remit or pay to the claimant through the Abia PLUC outstanding sum of N5,916,568 in respect of your 22 branches in Abia for 2018-2019.

“That warrant of distress is issued against the premises of the defendant for failure to remit/pay the sum of money above.”

Some of the customers of the bank, on seeing the notice, were seen discussing in small groups, asking if their money was safe with the bank.

International female rapper Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, known professionally as Cardi B, is currently in Nigeria for the Livespot X Festival, which is set to take place on Saturday, December 7.

The rapper’s arrival in Nigeria has gained attention all over Nigeria. In a recent post, she was said to have stated that she wants to have a taste of the Nigerian jollof rice.

In another post, the top rapper gave herself a Nigerian name in honour of being in the country. The mother of one named herself Chioma B.

[News] About a week ago, the SUG President released a memo both on his Whatsapp status and other Social media

About a week ago, the SUG President released a memo both on his Whatsapp status and other Social media platforms, that he has been able to shift school resumption date from the management rumoured September 7th and 14th 2019, to October 7th and 14th 2019. However, report reaching us today from a reliable source says an authority from the management called the President and demanded he writes a memo debunking his earlier post as the management hasn't changed ground. The authority added that school resumes whenever the management wants not when SUG want. Basically, the SUG President has met with the Director of Academic Planning and DSA who actually accept his appeal of the 7th October, but VC now objected saying no one should interrupt with the flow of the University's academic activities. So the known dates for resumption in 2019/2020 academic session is 7th September for 100 & 400L while it's 14th for 200 & 300L. I am Funai Parrot
